The popular saying says it (very wisely): mother, there is only one. However, the history of cinema has shown us that there can be more than one type of mom. From the sweet mother who is in charge of supporting the family with love and effort, to the rebellious mother who is willing to face the worst bad guys so that her children do not suffer. Therefore, this time we talk about the mothers of the films that make us think about motherhood the most.
All of them inspired us in the way we manage our own motherhood or, at least, made us reflect on the type of mother we are.
Let's see some of the mother figures that have attracted the most attention in different Hollywood productions. Which is your favorite?
1. Mrs. Gump in 'Forrest Gump'
'My mom says…'. Who have you thought of? Of course! In Forrest Gump. This film, directed by Zemeckis and released in 1994, left us with the beautiful character of Forrest himself, but it also made us reflect on the importance of our example as mothers. And it is that there are several occasions in which this character mentions words that his mother told him before and that marked his way of understanding the world.
2. Erin Brokovich in the movie of the same name
Julia Roberts becomes a courageous mother in this film, which ended up earning her a well-deserved Oscar. Erin, the character she plays, fights for the survival of her three children. There is nothing to stop her, neither her poor training nor the difficulties that she encounters on her way. Anything goes, even reinventing herself, to give the best possible life to her offspring.
3. Grace Stewart in 'The Others'
Have you seen 'The Others'? Far from wanting to spoil you, we will tell you that the mother Grace awaits with her children the return of her husband after the Second World War. This character, played by Nicole Kidman, will go out of her way for the sake of her little ones, even if it means shutting herself up in her home, tight and close. 5. Sarah Connor in 'Terminator'
A superheroine willing to do anything for her son, that's how we could define Sara Connor, the mother of John Connor from 'Terminator'. This film, which is also known as 'The Exterminator', was released in 1984 and directed by James Cameron.

7. Aurora Greenway in 'The Power of Affection'
Motherhood is also sometimes synonymous with friendship, or at least that's how the mother in the movie 'The force of affection' sees it. The very special relationship between the two protagonists of this film will make you think about the type of bond you want to establish with your daughters. This film, also titled 'Terms of Endearment', is by James L. Brooks and was released in 1983. It was the great winner of that year's Oscar Awards ceremony.
8. Queenie in 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button'
Benjamin is abandoned by his biological family and it is Queenie (played by actress Taraji P. Henson) who takes him in. Throughout the entire film it shows that love for children does not necessarily have to be a blood bond. This film, released in 2008, was directed by David Fincher, based on Fitzgerald's novel.
9. Morticia Addams in 'The Addams Family'
And we finish this review by the best mothers in cinema, or at least the most emblematic ones, with the character of Morticia Addams. The funny Addams family was led by a brave and very very elegant woman.
